Earlier this month, Tim McGraw announced that he would be headlining a benefit concert for the group Sandy Hook Promise. They are an organization dedicated to the cause of "protecting children from gun violence."

Since the announcement, several pro-gun groups have criticized the country singer for supporting an "anti-gun" group. Some have even gone so far as to ask people to boycott Tim McGraw. While many people are trying to paint McGraw as anti-gun, the Sandy Hook Promise's mission statement says they are for protecting children from gun violence by supporting mental health and gun safety programs, not by advocating a ban on firearms in general (or any particular class of firearms).
