Many of the artists opening for and playing alongside George Strait on the Cowboy Rides Away Tour idolize the country legend. That's not necessarily the case for Ronnie Dunn.

Dunn tells Taste of Country he's gotten to know Strait well enough through the years that it's difficult to think of him like that. But he didn't downplay the King's influence or importance.

"He sure as heck cut a deep swath through the country music business," the 'Kiss You There' singer said. Dunn will open for Strait tonight in Des Moines, Iowa and Saturday in Tulsa, Okla. He said the two will take the stage together as well, but he hadn't figured out which songs they'd sing. There's a long list and he was trying to find a good key.

“I think one of ‘em was ‘You Look So Good in Love’ and all the guys went ‘You’re not singing that,'" Dunn says laughing. "I don't know, we might."

Strait has just three tour dates remaining after this weekend's shows. Dunn is busy promoting his just-released 'Peace Love and Country Music' album.
