On Saturday, the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a 57 year-old male who was overdue from a dirt bike ride in the Bear Canyon area.

It happened around noon, after family and friends looked for him and were only able to locate his dirt bike

Officials began a seach with ATV’s and pickups.

At about 5:50 AM the next morning (Sunday), the missing man was located.

He had sustained a shoulder injury, but was otherwise okay.

Sheriff Gootkin would like to remind everyone that things can change quickly when recreating in the backcountry.  So always be prepared for the unexpected and always let someone know where you’ll be going.
