Spring is in the air. This means we are going to be doing lots of spring cleaning and planting our gardens and making our flower beds way better than our neighbors...fingers crossed they don't out do you this year.

This also means that pets are going to want to be outside 24/7. Smelling all the smells, rolling in the fresh cut grass, and going on the longest walks/hikes ever. It's gonna be epic.

As some are new to being a pet owner, it's important to know exactly what your pet is getting into. Cats and dogs. I have a neighbor that walks their cat. I will admit at first it was a bit odd to see, but I have seen more and more posts of this becoming more normal, so it's important to include furry feline's in this as well.

There are certain things that are not safe for our pets and are typically right at our fingertips. It's important to go room by room and make sure your pets can't get into any of these common household items. Inside and out.

Some of these may seem obvious and some we don't think about. For example, lotion. We put it on our hands, legs, arms, face, etc. and our pets will tend to want to lick us right away.

This is just a short list of common household and personal items that we, as pet owners, need to make sure are stored properly. If for some reason your pet does get into something they shouldn't have, keep the poison control hotline number on hand. Animal Poison Control Center 888-426-4435. Along with your pet's personal vet.
