She’s one of the most important names in modern music history, but Patsy Cline fans haven’t had a place where they can go to celebrate her legacy — until now.

Thanks to the efforts of the aptly named Celebrating Patsy Cline Inc. organization, Cline’s Virginia home has been renovated and is now open to the public.

“There’s no museum for her, so this is the actual place that she lived the longest in her short life,” said Douglas Gomery, a representative from the company. “She really made the transition from amateur singer to professional singer when she lived there.”

Cline lived in the house from 1948-1957, years that were certainly important for her career. It was during this period that she signed her first record deal, made her Grand Ole Opry debut, and won Arthur Godfrey’s Talent Scouts television competition.

Although the house — which is now being billed as the Patsy Cline Historic House — won’t have its ribbon-cutting ceremony until Labor Day weekend, fans can already tour the grounds, which include $100,000 worth of period-appropriate renovations.
