Gallatin County Extension in partnership with the Gallatin
Conservation District and Gallatin Big Sky Noxious Weed Committee will be
offering a 6 week pasture management course for Gallatin County
residents.  The class will give land owners the necessary tools to develop
a sustainable pasture management plan for their property. Participants will
learn to improve their forage production and keep their animals on healthy and
productive pasture. Topics that will be covered include: water, soils, weeds,
grasses, poisonous plants, and grazing systems.  Whether you have 2 acres
or 200, horses or cows, sustainable pasture management can help reduce costs,
increase forage, protect water quality, control weeds, and improve animal
health.

The class will begin Monday, September 12 from 6:30-8:30 PM and will run for 6
consecutive weeks on Monday evenings.  To register for the class, please
contact the Michelle Dammen directly at 209-2180 or gallatin2@montana.edu or call the
Gallatin County Extension office at 388-3213.  Cost of the class will be
$80 which will include ONE notebook and TWO seats for the class.  So grab
your spouse, a friend or neighbor and get registered today!  Class
registration is limited so make sure you get signed up as spots will fill up
quickly!
