My Attempt at Being a Cool Kid

It's everywhere you look. Everyone is talking about it. So, it was only a matter of time before I caved and downloaded Pokemon Go! on my phone. A lot of the college kids I met at the fair were talking about it and told me that "I had to try it" and how much fun it was. Granted, I'm about 10 years older than most of those college kids...But alas, I decided to give it a try.

It's actually kind of fun. I've never really been one to play games on my phone, but Pokemon Go! is pretty addicting. I never was into Pokemon as a kid. It became popular when I was a teenager, and I always thought it was kind of stupid. I was more into Transformers and TMNT. Will, from our sister station 96.7 KISS FM has been playing in nonstop since it came out. I decided to check it out, and see what all the hype was about.

Pretty much, you walk around town and catch Pokemon, but there's a lot more to it than that. After you catch the Pokemon, you have to upgraded them and make them stronger. Once you have your Pokemon built up, you can fight against other Pokemon in a thing called a gym. There's a lot of gyms around Bozeman. It's kind of hard to explain all of the intricacies of the game. There's actually a lot to it.

After trying it out, I came to the conclusion that it's not for me. I feel like a 12-year-old when I play it. I guess I have to accept the fact that I'm old, and not a cool kid.
