After an incident that left one MSU basketball player severely injured and possibly out for the  season, four MSU Athletes have been cited for misdemeanors.

The injured player is Xavier Blount, one of the leading scorers on the MSU Bobcat’s Basketball team. Reports state that there was an argument and then the bouncer found Blount nearly unconscious with a dislocated shoulder, a broken nose, and multiple cuts on his mouth.

The charges are as follows:

Football linebacker Roger Trammell, 21, was cited for misdemeanor assault; track sprinter Christopher Wilson, 20, for disorderly conduct and unlawful use of a driver’s license; football defensive tackle Zach Minter, 21, for unlawful use of a driver’s license; and basketball forward Blount, 20, for disorderly conduct and minor in possession of alcohol, Bozeman Assistant Police Chief Rich McLane said Monday.

We wish Blount the best in his recovery. How should the University handle situations like this when student athletes are involved?
