Millie Fire Information

The Sheriff’s Office has received information that there may be confusion about  fire evacuations on the Millie Fire.

AT THIS TIME THERE HAVE BEEN NO EVACUATIONS anywhere in Gallatin County.  The Sheriff’s Office issued WARNINGS in South Cottonwood Canyon yesterday morning are assisting the United States Forest Service with their closures of Hyalite and other Forest Service areas.

Officials would like to clarify the process.

A WARNING is given to residents if there is a possibility that they may need to be evacuated depending on changing conditions.

An EVACUATION means it’s time to go.
