Learning Time Gentlemen- “Alright” versus “all right”
Apparently Men are not as smart as Women. At least that's what Colleen and everyone else thinks! I still don't believe them. So I am going to attempt to bring some knowledge to the Men of XL Nation.
Today we are going to learn the difference between “Alright” versus “all right” I know this might be easy for all the English majors out there, like my awesome sister-in-law! Between my wife and sister-in-law I have the grammar police breathing down my neck.
VOTE HERE if you think men are smarter!
“Alright” means okay
“All right” means everything is correct
Right: He’s feeling alright after drinking too much.
Wrong: He’s feeling all right after not drinking enough.
Right: He was pulled over by the police and he got the questions all right.
Wrong: His wife was mad he went out drinking but he got the questions alright.
Right: Alright, let’s get to work on this keg.
Wrong: All right, let’s get to work on this house.
Right: The directions you gave were all right. (In this instance it means they were all correct)
Wrong: The directions you gave were alright. (In this instance, it means they were okay, or satisfactory)
Now we are learning!
