The DJs at B104 in Bloomington, Ill. heard how Lady Antebellum‘s Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood were unable to attend bandmate Hillary Scott’s wedding earlier this month. So they presented the trio with a wedding cake before this weekend’s show at the U.S. Cellular Colliseum to give them a “bonus wedding reception.” From the looks of things, the male members of the trio still might be craving cake.

“Thanks @WBWN for the reception cake since Dave & Charles couldn’t make it to ours…too bad Hobbs beat you it!” Scott wrote on the Lady Antebellum Twitter page.

Hobbs is Scott and husband Chris Tyrrell’s Goldendoodle, who was caught giving the pastry a taste before the newlyweds could cut the first slice. The pup has a face that will surely allow him to get away with a lot more than plunging face first into an expensive three-tiered cake.

Tyrrell plays drums for Lady Antebellum, so he was on hand to accept the gift from the country station. That’s him and Scott sharing a smooch, but it doesn’t look like he got to wipe cake on her nose before she walked onstage. Perhaps all that sugar would be bad for her voice, anyway.

Lady Antebellum’s Own the Night Tour with Darius Rucker and Thompson Square continues on this weekend in Huntington, W.V.
