Lady Antebellum's '747' is out Tuesday (Sept. 30) and the trio claim it's a whole new Lady A.

When Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio, host Sam Alex said their song 'Lie With Me' was stuck in his head. Hey, it's catchy. "You can blame Charles [Kelley] for that, he heard that song first for us,” Haywood shares.

"That’s my favorite song off the record," Kelley admits. "I don’t know, there’s just something about that one. We’re just, I don’t know, man, excited to have new music out, and we feel like we really rededicated ourselves as a band with this record to really try and come up with something fresh."

Kelley doesn't just love the song, though -- he loves the direction Lady Antebellum is heading. With the help of a new producer, they're revamping their sound.

"With songs like ‘Bartender,’ ‘Freestyle’ on there, we're just really trying to kinda amp up our sound," the singer says. "We worked with Nathan Chapman this time around and he helped bring that out. I think any time you work with someone different you just automatically go, ‘Alright, this feels new again.’ I think all that kinda helped just get us invigorated."

The group's upcoming single from '747' is 'Freestyle' -- it's one they wrote with Shane McAnally. Haywood had the idea, but together, they made it what it is now.

"This is one we wrote out with Shane McAnally," the new father says. "I had actually sent Shane a track, I knew Shane was coming out to write with us … it was a track I had kinda started at the house and sent it Shane kinda feeling like it might match a little bit with some of the stuff that he does and his songwriting style. I said, ‘Hey, if you’ve get any ideas on this we’ll see you in a couple of weeks on the road.’ He came out and pulled this thing up on the bus, we were out west and he started spitting out all these crazy, cool, fun off-the-wall images and just hilarious things."

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
