Join the Bozeman Citizen’s Police Academy
Citizen’s Police Academy Class #10 begins every year in March. It meets on Wednesday evening for 10 weeks, with optional weekend events and a ride-along with BPD patrol officers.
The academy includes detailed information on such topics as the patrol and detective divisions, DUI enforcement, crash investigation, the Special Response Team, the Missouri River Drug Task Force, crime scene investigations and scenarios, Taser, and many other interesting topics.
One of the main objectives of our Citizen’s Police Academy is to foster better communication between the citizens of Bozeman and the Bozeman Police Department. They will be offering information about their department and criminal justice system so participants have a better understanding of the services the Bozeman Police Department provides to the community.
The men and women of the Bozeman Police Department will provide tours of criminal justice facilities, demonstrations, class instruction, and hands-on activities for academy participants. This academy will have you out of your chairs and participating in all aspects of law enforcement, from traffic stops to thinking like a CSI investigator.
