I don't know about you, but I definitely don't want to get a fine from the City of Bozeman. Luckily, where I live there aren't any sidewalks. If you live in Bozeman, you might want to make sure you keep the sidewalks cleared in front of your house. Bozeman police are warning people they could face hundreds of dollars in fines if they don’t shovel their sidewalks.

This is what they posted on the BPD Facebook page:

"With the start of the New Year, it's time to turn our attention towards keeping the sidewalks clear at your residence. Whether you own or rent, you need to clear the sidewalks at your residence within 24 hours of the snowfall ending. There are some properties that have not shoveled all season and our contractor is making his rounds. If you receive a bright pink notice on your front door, you have until the next day to clean the sidewalks. If your sidewalks are not completed when we check back, we have the snow removal contractor clear the walkways. The contractor's bill then gets sent to the property owner. Unfortunately some sidewalk fines have been a few hundred dollars because nothing has been done yet. To avoid fines, please keep your walkways clear.
Our wonderful community has many people who utilize these walkways -- Your neighbors appreciate your efforts! And your delivery service workers (United States Postal Service, FedEx, USPS, etc.) really appreciate it too!
If you see bad or dangerous walkways that are not clear of ice/snow, kindly let the Code Compliance Program know at ccompliance@bozeman.net."

Happy Shoveling!
