I’m looking forward to the Spruce Moose Festival this weekend for obvious reasons but I love driving up to Big Sky for anything for one main reason…just that, the drive up.

Driving up to Big Sky (any time of year) is one of my favorite things to do around here. I love following the Gallatin River up beautiful Gallatin Canyon. It’s stunning with snow covered trees or with vibrant green trees swaying in the summer breeze. It’s one of those gem drives you have to show off to guests, which is why my wife and I recently drove up there with some friends visiting from the east coast. No destination, just thought they would enjoy the drive (and they truly did!)

I love skiing Big Sky, I love driving through Yellowstone National Park, and I know I’m gonna have a blast this weekend at the Spruce Moose Festival at Big Sky Resort. They’re fun destinations, but honestly even better journeys. Don’t ever take that drive for granted, and don’t forget you can still take in that beautiful drive this weekend on your way up to the Spruce Moose.

Spruce Moose: Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of September, at the Big Sky Base Area, tickets start at $40, purchase at www.chamberlinproductions.com, Tarantino’s Pizzeria, or Cactus Records. Bands include John Butler Trio, Big Head Todd and The Monsters, Pinky and The Floyd, The Clintons, Cure for the Common and more!

Lodging and ticket packages can be purchased at www.bigskyresort.com/lodging/specials. Parking at the event is $10 per vehicle and minus $1 for every person legally in the vehicle to encourage carpooling. That means if you have a car full of 5 people, parking only costs $5!
