Eighty percent of online daters lie on their profiles, according to a new study -- but liars give themselves away.

According to Daily Mail, shorter profiles are often a sign that people are lying.

People who are lying - even 'white lies' such as a few pounds off their weight or a few years off their age - are also less happy about using the pronoun 'I'.

Also, the study says that people who lie on their profiles are likely to avoid discussing their appearance in their written descriptions, choosing instead to talk about work or life achievements.
