Just so you know, my MEAN MEAN Mom wouldn't let me have a skunk when I was little.  It's all I wanted.  I had lots of stuffed animal skunks, and was fairly obsessed with them.  Now that I see this article, all those sad, unresolved feelings are back...

According to the Daily Mail, baby skunks -- "with their soft fur and ability to be house-trained" -- are apparently an ideal family pet. Owners are undeterred by the strong scent the animals can release when threatened, saying they are cleaner than dogs or cats. Breeders estimate that there are around 2,000 kept as domestic pets, and demand is increasing. One woman told the Daily Mail she paid about $500 for hers -- but they can cost over $2,000 in some stores. One breeder says he sells around 200 skunks a year. He said, 'If they are trained properly when they are younger then there is no need to worry about them spraying."

FYI, my middle daughter, Gracie, asked me for a Chinchilla last night, she said it's all she has ever wanted and would never ask for anything again,  and her MEAN MEAN mom said no!
