Batten down the hatches. It's supposed to get really windy later on this evening here in the Bozeman area. Winds are expected to be around 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph at times. Below is the official forecast issued by the National Weather Service:

Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a High
Wind Warning... which is in effect from 2 am Monday to 5 PM MST
Tuesday.

* Winds... mostly west 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph at
times... but 40 to 50 mph with gusts to 80 mph at times along the
Rocky Mountain front and through favored passes and canyons.

* Timing... winds will increase after midnight tonight along the
Rocky Mountain front... then spread east and south over the
plains and into the southwest valleys through the morning
hours. They will decrease Monday evening... but increase once
again late Monday night into Monday morning.

* Impacts... strong winds will cause difficult driving
conditions... especially for those driving high profile vehicles.
Minor property damage and localized power outages are also
possible. In addition... blowing snow may limit visibility
through mountain passes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Strong winds endanger transportation and could
cause property damage.
