Just 20 miles south of Big Sky, the Bacon Rind Fire has flared up with the recent dry weather. Dry and windy conditions earlier this week caused the fire to grow and are causing concern with crews.

The fire is burning up a ridge in the far northwest corner of Yellowstone National Park and has crossed Snowslide Creek and Migration Creek.  The major concern is the fire may jump the highway and push further into the park.

Sprinkler systems have been put on homes and structures and Highway 191 remains open with reduced speed limits of 45 MPH according to local media outlets.
