I love food.  I know the experts say you should eat to live, but I live to eat.  I do eat pretty healthy...fresh ingredients, lots of fruits and vegetables, fish, and no processed food.  But I love wine, bread, cheese and steak.  This is why I work out.  I used to go without my "loves,"  but as I get older, I decide that I must indulge in moderation.  Life is short, and there's too many delicious foods to try.  I do spend most of the summer in a bikini, though, and want to make sure it's not scary for those around me.  That's why I work out.  Yes, I want to be healthy and grow old without major health problems, and yes, I want to be a good influence on my kids...but really, I want to look good, too!  Annie, the supertrainer, as I like to call her, is helping me with all of that.

Her workout today was a killer.  My legs and arms are wobbly.  I was sweating like crazy, and had to really push to finish some of the exercises.  I love that when I work out with her, I don't have to use any of the machines, or the treadmills.  The way she has me workout uses my own body weight, and the workouts include cardio.  You don't have to work out like that if you don't want to, but I am loving it!  I don't have time to spend hours in the gym.  Most of us don't.  I am in and out of there in an hour, and it makes me feel so good about myself.

I am working hard.  It really feels good to have something like this for myself.  I am not going to lie to you, there are some days that I don't want to go in.  I know that Annie is going to make me work my butt off.  Once I get started though, I am so glad I went.

The family and I are going skiing this weekend with a couple of other families.  There will be dinners out and wine...of course.  In the past year, I said to myself..."forget it, you aren't working out, you're chubby...eat and drink whatever." I had kind of given up.  This weekend,  I am going to order smart.  If I want dessert, I will steal a bite of Mike's!  Now, I don't want to damage the work I've done.  I want to eat healthier, even when I am out.  It's funny how the working out has been a catalyst to get me back on track with my way of eating.  I don't call it a diet...it has to be a way of life...and life is good!
