PHOENIX (AP) — Former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has one word about gun violence in America: "Enough."

She and her husband — retired astronaut Mark Kelly — spoke to ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer for an interview that will be aired at 6:30 p.m. EST Tuesday. It's the second anniversary of the Tucson shooting rampage that killed six and wounded Giffords and 12 others.

The two also wrote in an op-ed published Tuesday in USA Today that they are launching an initiative aimed at curbing gun violence in the wake of the mass killing at a Connecticut school.

Segments of their interview were shown on "Good Morning America.

Giffords and Kelly met Friday with the families of victims in last month's shooting in Connecticut.

Kelly says the meeting brought back a lot of memories. He says: "You hope that this kind of thing doesn't happen again. And you know what? It does happen again."
