Country music artists and fans are reeling from the news that George Jones, arguably one of the greatest country singers of all time, died on Friday April 26. Born September 12, 1931, Jones is considered one of the most important and influential singers in the history of American popular music, and Nashville's biggest stars are taking the news hard.

Country stars like Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Faith Hill expressed their condolences to the entire Jones family, but especially to Nancy, his wife of 30 years. Although everyone has their own memories about Jones and his iconic list of hits, several country stars expressed their feelings that Jones was the greatest country music singer of all time.

Jones' left behind five decades worth of classic country hits, including ‘She Thinks I Still Care,’ ‘The Grand Tour,’ ‘Walk Through This World With Me,’ ‘Tender Years’ and ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today.’
