The Gallatin Valley Mall has teamed up with the Gallatin Vally Food Bank for a Back to School Food Drive during the month of August. Due to concerns of COVID-19, school may look different this year, but making sure all the children in our community have nutritious meals to eat is just as important.

The food drive will support the Gallatin Valley Food Bank KidsPack Program which provides nutritious, kid-friendly foods over the weekend during the school year. An average of 450 bags are distributed each week at 21 local area schools.

With one in six Montana children struggling with hunger, the Gallatin Valley Mall is helping collect food at the GVM Guest Services (located near Macy’s) between August 1st- 31st.

Below are some key items that they are looking for. These items will help fill the KidsPack weekend bags that kids can take home.

  • Low sugar instant oatmeal packets
  • 100% juice boxes
  • Whole-grain granola bars (store brand preferred)
  • Canned low sodium tuna or chicken
  • Canned fruits in juice
  • Canned low sodium veggies
  • Canned low sodium soup

Gallatin Valley Food Bank KidsPack Program distributes to schools in Gallatin, Jefferson, and Madison Counties. The program is offered the kids regardless of their family’s income. Find out more about the program as well as other ways you can donate or volunteer by using the button below.
