Former Bozeman Hawk Tanner Roderick Commits to Montana State Bobcats
BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Tanner Roderick, who led Bozeman High to state football and basketball championships as a senior, is transferring from Nevada to Montana State to play football.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports Roderick has three years of eligibility remaining after two seasons at Nevada, including a redshirt year.
Roderick says he'll play wide receiver this fall and compete for the quarterback spot after DeNarius McGhee graduates. Roderick played wide receiver as a sophomore in high school.
He passed for 2,457 yards and 28 touchdowns and rushed for 1,913 yards and 23 more scores as a senior, helping Bozeman to a 13-0 record and the 2010 state Class AA championship. He averaged 19 points per game as Bozeman posted a 22-1 record and won the Class AA state basketball title for the 2010-11 season.
Roderick's father, Steve, also played football for the Bobcats.
