Five Country Song Covers You Have To Hear
As I posted in my blog yesterday, I listen to a lot of different music. It's always awesome to hear your favorite country artists cover your favorite artists from other music genres. I listen to everything from jazz to classic rock to country, and everything in between.
Here are five of my favorite country/bluegrass artists covering song from some of my favorite artists from other genres.
1. Zac Brown Band - Free / Into The Mystic
On their live album "Pass The Jar", the Zac Brown Band plays their song "Free" then transitions to "Into The Mystic" by Van Morrison
2. Morgane Stapleton with Chris Stapleton - You Are My Sunshine
Morgane Stapleton is Chris Stapleton's wife, and they perform together on a regular basis. However, Chris generally is in the spotlight. In this cover, Morgane is the star of the show. They truly sound amazing together.
3. Aaron Lewis - What Hurts The Most
Aaron Lewis was formally the lead singer of the alternative band "Staind". Since then, he has had a fairly successful career in country music. In this cover, Aaron takes on "What Hurts The Most" by Rascal Flatts.
4. Avett Brothers - Operator
One of my favorite bands are the Avett Brothers. I'm also a huge Jim Croce fan. In this cover, Seth Avett from the Avett Brothers sings "Operator" by Jim Croce.
5. David Nail - Someone Like You
Adele is an incredible singer, and anyone that attempts to cover one of her songs definitely earns my respect. In this cover, David Nail does an incredible job covering "Someone Like You" by Adele.
Hope you enjoyed the songs. If you know of any other great covers by country artists, I'd love to hear them. Shoot me an email! Jesse@xlcountry.com
