Scenic Wilsall, Montana in Shields Valley will be the gathering spot for local ranch hands and their prized ponies to show their cowboy skills Sunday, August 18th. Men, women and young cowhands work throughout the year doctoring cows, branding calves, sorting, penning and roping- taking care of the ranch herd at home. At the 13th Annual Wilsall Ranch Rodeo, they will have an opportunity to win cash and prizes in real cowboy competition. Events include Calf Branding, Team Doctoring, Penning, Herd Counting, and the ever-entertaining Wild Cow Milking.

Admission is only $5 adults and $1 kids. Refreshments will be available throughout the day. The Shields Valley BPA Chapter will be hosting breakfast with the cowboys from 8-10 am at the rodeo grounds, and will be running the concession stand during the rodeo. Kids can compete in the Dummy Roping after breakfast at the rodeo grounds. The rodeo competition kicks off at 11 AM Sunday, August 19th.

Stop in the night before for the Calcutta, BBQ and dance. The 10 competing teams will be auctioned off at the Veterans Park Pavilion in Wilsall. A BBQ at 6 PM and Cowboy Dance with local band Crazy Mountain Express at 8 PM will add to the festivities Saturday night.
