Christian Musician Steve Darmody Presents Free Concert (end june 13)
Christian artist Steve Darmody will present a free vocal concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Mount Ellis Academy gymnasium in Bozeman.
The program is the opening event at the annual Seventh-day Adventist statewide camp meeting, scheduled to run June 13-16 on the Mount Ellis Academy campus.
The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Montana Seventh-day Adventist Conference office at 587-3101.
Mount Ellis Academy is at 3641 Bozeman Trail Road, off Interstate 90 at the Bear Canyon exit.

THE TEAM OF TWENTY-EIGHT PI KAPPA PHI FRATERNITY MEMBERS WILL ARRIVE IN BOZEMAN, THURSDAY, JUNE 14TH. THAT AFTERNOON, THEY WILL BE VISITING WITH EAGLE MOUNT AND THE LION’S CLUB. VETERANS STAND DOWN (END JUNE 16)
Veterans Helping Veterans at the third annual Veterans Stand down, June 16th from 9 am to 3 pm. Come by the Gallatin County Fairgrounds and see what the Stand Down has to offer. Free admission leads to free sleeping bags, clothing, haircuts, and a free lunch! Veterans will have access to free military gear all day and public access to gear will begin at 1:00pm. Swing by and get the resources you need! The Stand Down is made possible by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #788 and US Department of Veteran Affairs. Youth Arts In Action (end june 19)
Youth Arts in Action sponsors two exciting dance events at the Emerson Cultural Center! On Monday June 18th at 7pm, come enjoy the award winning documentary, First Position. Follow the inspirational footsteps of six talented ballet dancers as they struggle to maintain form in the face of injury and personal sacrifice on their way to one of the most prestigious youth ballet competitions in the world, Youth America Grand Prix. Meet one of the film stars, Michaela DePrince and recent award winner from Bozeman, Jennifer Bummer.
On Tuesday June 19th at 7 pm, Les Danses de L’Amour returns to Bozeman! See this spectacular benefit ballet gala featuring Montana born ballerinas, Maria Sascha Khan and Nadia Khan from Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich, Germany returning from tours to China and Europe. International Ballet Stars from San Francisco Ballet, Staatsballett Berlin, American Ballet Theatre and Bayerisches Staatsballett are performing both classical and contemporary ballet. Past Les Danses de L’Amour performances received standing ovations. Be sure to come meet the dancers at Ted’s Montana Grill after the performance. CASA FUNDRAISER (END JUNE 20)
They are the cases you don’t hear about…children going through the court system…Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Montana is a nonprofit organization that speaks up and is sometimes the only voice for nearly 1,200 neglected and abused children, who are caught up in the state’s legal system through no fault of their own.,
Santa Fe Red’s is holding a “Non-Profit” night for the CASA Program on Wednesday, June 20th at both locations. On that night 5% of profits will be gifted to CASA. It’s also your chance to learn about the organization that makes such a difference in neglected and abused children’s lives.

SUMMER AVIATION ACADEMY (ACE) (end june 22)
Beginning June 21st Montana students have the chance to find out for themselves if an aviation career is right for them during the Aviation Career and Interest Academy (ACE). The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) Aeronautics Division is presenting the two-day academy for students in the 9th through 12th grades interested in aviation.
The program will explore aviation with field trips to The Aviation Museum, Neptune Aviation, Forest Service Smoke Jumper Base in Missoula, and Malstrom AFB, with individual airplane flights. Program will also explore aviation careers in Helena (weather permitting). Enrollment is limited, applications are available at http://www.mdt.mt.gov/aviation/.

JULY 4TH FIREWORKS AND SYMPHONY CONCERT (END JULY 4)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR MDA SUMMER CAMP (end august 10)
WHO: Volunteers at least 16 years old
WHAT: Muscular Dystrophy Association camp: Counselors must be at least 16 years old and able to lift and care for a young person between the ages of 6 and 17. Each counselor becomes a companion to a camper with a muscle disease and helps them with daily activities such as eating, bathing, and dressing. Counselors also assist campers with recreational activities such as arts and crafts and swimming.

Radon (end 4/1/13)
Radon is an invisible, odorless, and naturally occurring radioactive gas that can accumulate to unsafe levels in your home. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, claiming the lives of more than 20,000 Americans each year. Gallatin County is classified as a “Zone 1” radon area which means all homes in the county have the potential for high levels of radon. The Gallatin City-County Health Department would like to encourage all residents of Gallatin County to test their homes for radon. Exposure to radon gas can be prevented. Testing for radon is inexpensive and home repairs are affordable. Please contact the Gallatin City-County Health Department at 582-3120 or at ehs@gallatin.mt.gov to purchase a test kit or for more information about radon.

Free Gun Locks (tfn)
For a limited time, Child Care Connections will be distributing free gun locks to interested people in the community as part of their child safety program. Montana has the highest rate of suicide in the nation and nearly two-thirds of those suicides are by firearms. In addition, every childhood accidental shooting injury has one common denominator, access to a loaded firearm. The most important thing parents, caregivers and gun owners can do to protect children is reduce their access to firearms and safely store all guns. Safe and Alive
Montana's biggest killer is motor vehicle crashes. Safe and Alive presents the facts about motor vehicle passenger safety to empower Montanans to make the right personal, parental, and policy choices that touch the lives of individuals and families every day. These facts are based on statistics and studies from the Montana Department of Transportation, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and other credible sources. To provide a better understanding of this topic, the Buckle Up/Safe Kids Coalition will be offering this free presentation to area businesses, agencies and community groups.
