East Entrance And Select Roads In Yellowstone Open Today
Weather-Permitting, the East Entrance to Fishing Bridge Junction, Canyon Village to Fishing Bridge Junction, and The Northeast Entrance to Cody via the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway are open today, however due to avalanche danger, Sylvan Pass, and the East Entrance Road over Sylvan Pass are closed from 1-6pm today and tomorrow. They will continue to closely monitor road conditions and update as needed. Remember, there is also construction between Norris & Mammoth Hot Springs that may cause delays up to 30 minutes.
As far as food, lodging, and camping, food options are available at Old Faithful (watch the live webcam!), Canyon and Mammoth; Madison and Mammoth campgrounds are open; and lodging is open at Old Faithful & Mammoth. Check with Xanterra Parks & Resorts for availability.
The 2017 fishing season will begin May 27th. Water levels rise with warmer temperatures, so always use caution. Bears are also emerging from hibernation, and bear management restrictions are in effect for many areas.
Conditions in Yellowstone can change quickly, especially during the spring and fall seasons. Temporary road closures and delays are always possible and may not be shown on the map, as updates to the map may be delayed. Check back often if you are planning to travel to Yellowstone.
