Winter isn't over, yet, here in the Bozeman, MT area. The National Weather Service has just issued a Winter Weather Advisory until Saturday morning and a Winter Storm Watch is expected to go in effect Sunday. Below is what the National Weather Service is expecting over the weekend. Stay warm!

Monday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter
Storm Watch... which is in effect from Sunday morning through
Monday afternoon. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing
snow remains in effect until 5 am MST Saturday.

* Timing and main impact: periods of snow will continue through
this evening. The combination of snow and blowing snow will
result in poor visibility... snow covered and icy roadways.
Additional accumulating snowfall is expected on Sunday. The
snowfall could be heavy at times Sunday afternoon and evening.

* Snow accumulations: new snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches is
expected by Saturday morning. For Sunday and Monday... snow
accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are possible at lower
elevations... with 8 to 12 inches in the mountains.

* Winds and visibility: visibilities will be less than one half
mile at times this evening due to falling and blowing snow.
Northwest winds will gust near 30 mph at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and
blowing snow. Use caution when traveling... especially in open
areas.
