Like most tourists in Florida, Gus Hertz was probably just hoping for some relaxing time in the sun. Instead, the Virginia man became a hero after rescuing three people in two separate incidents over a two day period. Well, that puts us to shame. The most we ever managed on vacation is a mean case of sunburn.
It’s common knowledge that many states have towns called Springfield, based on the number of them who thought they were the inspiration for the hometown of TV’s ‘The Simpsons,’ only to find out they weren’t. But there are other city or town names you may not have heard of, and for good reason.

Anyone who’s been faced with a difficult test has at least been tempted to scribble some notes on their hand, or maybe try to stuff a small answer key under their watch. But a high school student in Kazakhstan (yup, that Kazakhstan) took the cheat sheet concept to what should be its ridiculous conclusion when he was caught with 35-feet of crib sheet during a university entrance exam.
As kids, we typically had to listen to adults preach to us about how we needed to study hard in school to become doctors and lawyers.
However, what they didn’t tell us is that it was possible to earn six figures doing other, more unusual work.

When 17-year-old Chuck Shriner crossed the stage to pick up his high school diploma on Saturday, he took a knee and Tebow-ed the principal. The stunt got him a lot of laughs and applause from the parents and students in attendance, but it also got him a day of janitorial duty — and he left without his diploma.

A small group of seniors at Cascade High School in Clayton, IN celebrated their upcoming graduation with a prank, covering school doors, offices and windows with more than 12,000 colorful Post-It notes.
But the school superintendent apparently didn’t think it was so funny — he suspended almost 60 students, and a janitor accused of helping during the prank could lose her job.
When flying, it always makes sense to bring something (a book, music, etc.) in order to pass the time. Well, passengers on a flight to Bucharest got one better when a self-described “Balkan-Klezmer-Gypsy-Punk-Super-Party-Band” staged an impromptu concert during a delay.
