We’ve got cans. Lots of cans. But we need more.

Help us Can the Griz and collect donations for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Amy from XL Country 100.7 is at Smith’s from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 14) collecting donations that go directly to the food bank.

Donations started coming in at around 6 a.m. with people generously giving canned food, frozen turkeys and cash to the cause.

This year marks the 15th annual Can the Griz/Can the Bobcats Food Drive, an off-field competition between Montana State University and the University of Montana to see which community can collect the most donations for their local food banks. This friendly competition takes place on Saturday, Nov. 8 through Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Bobcat/Griz game and ends at half-time.

Last year, MSU won with the Bozeman area community donating 100,937 pounds of food and about $47,445 for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.

All of the food collected at Can the Griz remains in the Gallatin Valley and is used to support our friends, our neighbors and our children’s classmates.

Thanks to everyone who stops out today!
