    Livingston Roundup and 4th Celebration

If you’ve never been to Livingston for the 4th of July celebration, it’s something you'll want to put on your bucket list.

This year marks the 90th year of the parade, which is held on Saturday, July 2, starting at 3 p.m. The town fills up for the annual event, and don’t be surprised if you see a celebrity or two (the year I was there, some of the members of the cast of Full House were spotted in the crowd).

The parade is the kick-off for three days of fun, which include the Livingston Roundup Rodeo and the Festival of the Arts, both held July 2, 3 and 4.

Find out more about the rodeo HERE.

The Festival of the Arts is held at the Depot Rotary Park next to the Depot Center on West Park Street. It attracts about 100 skilled artists and crafts people.

    Ennis Parade and Rodeo

Another small town that knows how to do the Fourth of July up right is Ennis.

The NRA sanctioned Ennis rodeo is held July 3 and 4 with top cowboys and cowgirls from the Northwest competing in rough stock and timed events at the rodeo grounds. Events start at 8 p.m. July 3 and 6 p.m. July 4.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

On the morning of Monday, July 4, hundreds of people will gather for the 81st annual 4th of July parade. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and winds through historic downtown Ennis with horses, floats, marching bands and classic cars. This year’s theme is “Big Skies, Open Spaces.”

A veterans' 4th of July ceremony will immediately follow the parade at the Veteran's Memorial (behind Town Pump).
