It was tough opening game for the MSU Bobcats losing to Arkansas State 37-10 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. It took less than a minute and only three plays for the Red Wolves to score after taking the opening kickoff.

The Bobcats tied the game at 7-7 after a short drive following a fumble recovery on a punt. The game remained close until midway through the 3rd quarter, before Arkansas State pulled away.
