Yellowstone County officials have released the name of a 47-year-old Billings man who was shot to death outside his workshop on Friday night while the suspect remains at large.

Sheriff's Lt. Bill Jones, the county coroner, tells The Billings Gazette the victim was Frank Richey Greene. He declined to release further details about Greene's death.

Greene's girlfriend said she thought he was outside working on a vehicle, but found him dead when she went to check on him at about 11 p.m.

On Saturday, Lt. Kent O'Donnell said Greene had been shot several times and died at the scene.

Sheriff Mike Linder says deputies continue to investigate and no one is in custody.

The driver of a pickup truck a neighbor reported seeing leaving the area was questioned and later released.
