This morning I had my first Granny's Donuts experience, and it was...absolutely delicious!

A little backstory: Dave from the XL morning show called me this morning and suggested that I bring in donuts for the blind date contestants. Since I'm the new guy, I decided it would probably be best if I did what Dave asked me to do.

I had heard of Granny's Donuts before but had never actually been there. They were the first place I thought of so I called them this morning at 6:40. Here's the thing, they don't open until 7. When I called I explained my situation and told them that I'd much rather give them my money than some chain grocery store. The person on the other end of the phone happened to be the owner. His name is Robert. He told me to come in and he would sell me donuts before they opened. I was really impressed with the customer service. When I arrived, someone was waiting at the door to let me in. After picking out my dozen of donuts, then came time to pay. I handed him my debit card, and he informed me that they don't take cards as a form of payment. I looked in my wallet, and all I had was $6. Robert said, "Don't worry about it, just give me the $6, and we'll call it good." Talk about great customer service. I assured him that I would return after the morning show to pay him the rest of the $10 I owed him for the donuts, and he obliged.

Overall, my first experience at Granny's Gourmet Donuts was a great one, and I'll definitely be back. Great service and great donuts. If you've never been there, I highly recommend it. They're located near the MSU campus 3 Tai Lane. They're open from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. every day. Make sure you say hi to Robert.
