The body of a Belgrade man was found along a ski trail in Yellowstone National Park over the weekend.

Snowshoers discovered the body of Merik Morgan, 52, not far from the ski trail along the Blacktail Plateau Divide, according to a press release from Yellowstone National Park. The snowshoers called 911 around noon on Saturday after spotting the body in the snow along the groomed trail in the northern park of the park.

Park rangers went to the Frog Rock Trailhead, south of Grand Loop Road, eight and a half miles east of Mammoth Hot Springs.

Initial indications are that Morgan succumbed to hypothermia. The incident is still under investigation.
