Alright, XL Nation ladies. Here's your chance to have fun, stay fit, and throw some elbows. Ok, not sure throwing elbows in considered inside the rules, but you can definitely get physical. The Gallatin Roller Girls are gearing up for the upcoming season and they're looking to add to their team.

GRG is recruiting women for league skaters and men and women for referee, non-skating official and volunteer positions with the league.

Starting Feb. 1, the Gallatin Roller Girlz are offering their ONLY Fresh Meat Boot Camp for the year! The FMBC is required for all new skaters and referees wishing to join the league and is open to men and women 18+. This eight-week program runs from February 1– March 24 and costs $100 (fee includes coaching, use of Try Before You Buy gear, and WFTDA skater insurance.) Open enrollment Feb. 1- 11, 2016.

The Gallatin Roller Girlz FMBC is designed to support new skaters as they embark on the journey of learning to derby. A ground level curriculum, the FMBC ‘brings up’ and ‘graduates’ a full class of skaters into contact level skating with the league. During the 8-week camp, a full curriculum of non-contact basic skills will be taught according to our Snowflake Assessment (i.e. contact rated skater evaluation). Skaters will then be enrolled in another 8-week program directly following the FMBC that teaches the finer nuances of the sport including blocking and strategy – Derby 101.

To learn more about the league and Fresh Meat from current players, check us out at our FMBC Meet and Greet and Wild Joe's Coffeespot, 18 West Main Street, Bozeman, Sunday, January 24, 4-6 PM.

To get the full benefit of the camp, it is suggested that skaters begin the camp on our orientation evening on Monday, Feb. 1 from 7 to 10 p.m. Show up early and be ready to practice at 7 p.m. at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, Building #3 at 901 N Black in Bozeman. Bring a mouthguard and any gear you may already own. For those skaters who cannot make the orientation, GRG will maintain open enrollment February 3* (special day - Wednesday), 8, and 11. Contact us via private message on our Facebook Page to reserve Try Before You Buy Gear, available as usual, first come first serve basis.
