Area Near Four Corners Closed by Sheriff’s Dept on Monday
This afternoon around 3 p.m. in the area of Four Corners, the Gallatin County Sheriff's Department closed down streets around Zoot Enterprise and Zoot Way. According to a Sheriff's Office press release, deputies were dispatched after receiving information about a 20 year old man threatening suicide. He was also reportedly armed with a hunting rifle.
Concerns for the safety of a nearby school and children who were boarding school buses led the Sheriff's Department closing down several blocks around the area and sending out an Emergency Management telephone notification to advise people in the area to stay in their homes and away from windows.
The situation lasted until around 5 p.m. when negotiators from the Sheriff's Office and the Bozeman Police made contact with the man and were able to take him into custody. No one was injured and the man is being evaluated by mental health professionals.
