American College Introduces ‘App-making’ Degree
Have you heard about Rasmussen College, it’s a profit-generating college that operates in five states? Well it has launched both a two-year and four-year degree course in making apps, as the demand for app developers increases.
Who knew even just a couple years ago that this would become big business!
From the Telegraph here’s more info:
Hap Aziz, director of Rasmussen College’s School of Technology, said that an estimated 300,000 new software development jobs are going to be created over the next few years, with many of those calling for a speciality in mobile apps.
There is going to be a continued need as people start adopting more smart devices,” Aziz told technology website All Things Digital.com .
A select handful of aspiring app developers enrolled on the program this month at Rasmussen campuses in Florida and Minnesota, with further students expected for autumn. At present, the curriculum focuses on iPhone and Android app development but Aziz says he is aware the mobile world is constantly changing and believes the school can adapt quickly to meet new demands if needs be.
Rasmussen College has 16,000 students studying at five different campuses across the United States. The school of technology and design has 2,000 students.
