Lots of actors are also musicians. I have always maintained that actors have to be able to hear the sound, tone, and pitch of their voice to deliver a part well, so it’s no surprise that many of them sing and/or are musicians.

Dennis Quaid and the Sharks have been performing for almost 20 years around the L.A. area, and now they’re bringing their show to The Ellen Theatre, September 22nd (tickets go on sale on Monday, August 21st).

Quaid (who is lead guitarist and singer) and his band are kind of a rock/country/soul band, doing some originals, and some great covers including “Spill the Wine,” “Gloria,” and “Great Balls of Fire.” Quaid says he’s kind of a goof-ball onstage, and the shows are as much fun for the audience as they are for the band.
