50 Pounds Or More To Lose? Taking The First Steps

It’s on the top of the list of New Year’s Resolutions for most people.

Lose weight, and get in shape!

But, what if you have 50 or more pounds to lose?  That first step is the hardest, because you know what you have ahead of you.

You don’t have to wait until the new year, little changes now can lead up to a healthy lifestyle.

I’ve been there.  I gained 80 pounds with my second baby.  I know, yikes!

There are many reasons people put off going to the gym, like the beautiful people there, who are already in great shape and make you feel like a goober (for lack of a better word!).

Also, there’s the machinery, and it can be confusing.  I will tell you, that I have used the machines incorrectly.  I sat on one facing the wrong direction.  Someone came up and told me I was doing it wrong.  It was only embarrassing for a second.

Also, the price.  I decided that my health and future with my kids, and hopefully grandkids someday, was well worth the cost!

There’s a program at The Ridge that deals with all these fears.  Also, I can tell you from my own experience, that most everyone at the gym has the same fears you do.  You’ll see all kinds of body types.

As I told my kids, if you’re not scared, then it’s not a challenge, and you can’t let fear win!

I’m still trying to lose a few pounds myself…so if I see you at the gym, and you’re sitting backwards on the machine, I will help you, and tell you how I did the same thing!
