Yes, it's been a tough year for the MSU Bobcats. After Saturday's 45-27 loss to Weber State, the Bobcats are now 2-5 on the season and 0-4 in the Big Sky Conference. But there is still reason to not give up on the Bobcats.

Here's 3 Reasons Why You Should Be Excited About Bobcat Football:

1 - Chris Murray, the Bobcats true freshman quarterback started his first game against Weber State. He completed 10 of 18 pass attempts for for 199 yards and three touchdowns. Yes, he was intercepted twice but he's still learning the position and the college game. He also ran for 131 yards on 19 carries. Every snap he takes this year makes him that much better for next season. We have a terrific quarterback in the making Bobcat fans!

2 - The defense had a terrible first half on Saturday, but they didn't quit. They buckled down and held Weber State to only 3 points in the 2nd half. Early in the year, the Bobcat defense was carrying the team. With Coach Jeff Choate being a defensive specialist, our defense is only going to get better.

3 - Despite our record, we have an outstanding coaching staff. Coach Choate built the University of Washington defense that is right now ranked 13th in the nation. Coach Ty Gregorak built the Montana Grizzly's defense that is now ranked 11th in the FCS. This coaching staff is not playing with kids they recruited. This is still Coach Ash's team from a player standpoint. Just wait until they have their own team in place!

Hang in there, Bobcat Nation! Good things are coming to Bobcat Stadium very soon!
