Last night, the 58th Annual Grammy Awards took place. Here is my review on music's biggest night.

The Awards

Overall, on the country side of things, I was a three for four on my predictions. Chris Stapleton walked away with Best Country Album with Traveller and Best Solo Performance with his song Traveller. Little Big Town walked away with Best Country Duo/Group Performance, as well as Best Country Song, with Girl Crush. Unfortunately, Little Big Town, Sam Hunt, and Chris Stapleton did not walk away with their other nominations outside of Country Music.

The Performances

Overall, I enjoyed all of the performances. I may work in country music radio, but I listen to many other genres in my free time. Taylor Swift had a fantastic performance to kick off the show. Though many people had negative things to say about Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt's performance, I really liked how they sang their songs to the same beat. The Weekend, Stevie Wonder and Pentatonix, the Lionel Richie Tribute, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, and the Lady Gaga's David Bowie tribute were all very well put together. My favorite performance of the night was Chris Stapleton, Bonnie Raitt, and Gary Clark Jr.'s BB King Tribute. From their vocals, to the smooth guitars, it was one of the best performances of the night.

Overall

I think this years Grammy Awards were very well executed. The awards did not have as many surprises, but the performances were very well put together. Overall, I think the Grammys rated 3.5/5.
