A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow remains in effect until 5 PM MST this afternoon.

There is also a Winter Storm Warning in effect until 5 am MST Wednesday for the Bridger Range in northern Gallatin County.

Timing and main impact: an Arctic cold front will continue to move south through the area and bring sharply falling temperatures... gusty north winds and a period of snow and blowing snow.

Snow accumulations: total snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches over the plains/valleys... 4 to 8 inches in the mountains. The bulk of the snow accumulation will occur this morning.

Winds and visibility: gusty north winds at 15 to 25 mph will create blowing and drifting snow with visibilities reduced to less than one mile at times.

Temperatures: temperatures will fall into the lower teens and  upper single digits by this afternoon and the combination  of gusty winds will create wind chill values of zero to below 10 below zero.

Other impacts: these cold temperatures and wind chills may cause stress on Young livestock and impacts to any outdoor activities.
